SPORT DOG FOUNDATION CLASS

This will be an introductory class offered for four weeks.

It is for all dogs whether you compete in conformation, obedience, rally or agility!

Great for building confidence and conditioning. Additionally, dogs will learn to go over, around, through different obstacles, rear end awareness, recall games and crate/mat games.

AGILITY I : OBSTACLE INTRODUCTION

Pre-requisites: Dogs must have a recall from 20 feet, be steady on the startline and the table, be willing to go over a jump from both sides, be successful off leash for 3 to 5 obstacles, go through a tunnel and understand 2 on/off for contact equipment.

This class will develop skills and confidence over contact obstacles (A-Frame, Dog Walk, Teeter), help dogs to discriminate obstacles on verbal cues, learn how to navigate weaves and sequencing of obstacles. Handlers will develop skills in front crosses, rear crosses, entry into weaves, and sending to obstacles.

AGILITY II: HANDLING SKILLS

Pre-requisites: Dogs must be able to complete all obstacles including 6 weaves with little intervention of the handler. Dogs must understand the 2 on/2 off on contact obstacles.

The emphasis on this class is improve the handlers skills to send their dogs to obstacles that are 20 feet away, send their dogs into challenging weave pole entries, discriminate obstacles. The goal is for dogs and handlers to run a Novice style course at the end of the class.

COMPETITION AGILITY

Pre-requisites: Dogs must have the ability to complete a Novice course.

Courses will be set up at the Advanced and Excellent level, with emphasis on handling skills and difficult sequences. Class will be designed around the interests and skills of the teams enrolled.
